Welcome the NEW Eventzee App!

We’re excited to announce that a new version of the Eventzee app will be available for download later this week! The latest version of Eventzee has been totally reworked to offer virtual events and scavenger hunts for any occasion. Whether you’re looking for a team building exercise, new ways to engage with your customers, or a fun family activity, the NEW Eventzee app provides the most features of any scavenger hunt app available.

We’re excited to release the new Eventzee, complete with a collection of brand new features, but in the meantime allow us to break down some of our favorite aspects of the new app!

Fresh Facelift

One of the most noticeable changes is the release of the new Eventzee logo! The mission of the new app is to offer a tool for people working together to solve challenges, and interacting with one another via virtual events and scavenger hunts. Our new logo appropriately showcases the power a group of diverse people have when they work together to locate, and complete challenges in a real world setting.

Home Base

Each Eventzee event will now feature three distinct sections within the dashboard.

Event- What would be considered “Home,” this section includes the event description and details, allows you to see your stats particular to that event, and there’s even a spot to upload a profile picture!

Challenges- This section will show you a list of all challenges. The different challenge types are defined by their corresponding icon. When you click on a challenge you’ll then be able to see the challenges’ expanded description, any accompanying photos, and here you’ll also complete the challenge depending on the type.

Social- Here’s where you can interact with other players in your event! There are three features within the Social section.

  • Feed- Here players can see one another’s approved photos and videos and “like” them to cheer each other on.
  • Chat- Using this feature players can chat amongst themselves, strategize and work together
  • Leaderboard- See how you stack up against other players! Can you go for gold?

Challenging Choices

The NEW Eventzee app offers 7 different Challenge types!

  • Photo– An Eventzee classic! Photo challenges encourage interaction and drive creativity.
  • Video- Take your challenge to the next level with 30 second video submissions.
  • Quiz- Challenge your players’ minds with multiple choice questions.
  • GPS- Prove that X marks the spot by checking in to specific GPS locations.
  • QR Code- Locate and find hidden QR codes.
  • Text- Gather information from your players via fill-in-the-blank questions, and approve the submissions in real time.
  • Information- Share important information regarding challenges, locations, and more with informational tips.

Any mix of challenges can also be combined together in a Grouped Challenge to require players to complete a number of challenges at a time in order to earn the points. This is specifically helpful if you want a variety of challenges to be completed at one location. For example, guide players to a specific location with a GPS challenge, have them answer a Quiz question based on Information in that area, and take a Photo while you’re there for good measure!

Challenges can also host informational photos within the description as well for an alternative clue to what the challenge requires. For example, use an example photo to show players a specific statue or landmark they’re looking for. This section is also a great spot for showing branded images to showcase your organization’s logos, marketing materials, and more.

Admin Extraordinaire

Now running your event is easier than ever! Admins of events can approve photo, video, and text submissions within the app itself. You’ll still use the web admin tool to set up your hunt, create your challenges, and more, but the new app makes approving on the day of your event much simpler.

If you’re an admin you can access this section via the hamburger menu. From there a new menu will appear where you can review submissions, message players, download user media, post announcements and more.

A BRAND New Opportunity

Another exciting aspect of the new Eventzee app is the ability for clients to host their own white-label version of the Eventzee app. This totally unique app branded to your specifications uses the Eventzee technology, but operates as a separate build hosted by the client. Although development costs depend on the scope of the project, this high-end option is perfect for brands that want to make an impact in a partnership with Eventzee.

Our company has already kicked off its first white label project with the release of the Barnes Nation app this Spring! Hosted by Barnes Harley-Davidson in BC, Canada, Barnes Nation is a lifestyle app designed to get motorcycle riders out exploring the open roads and meeting new friends.

Housekeeping

The NEW Eventzee app is an entirely new build, so when the new app is available you will not update your current version of the Eventzee app. Instead you will need to search for the new version in your phone’s app store.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be transitioning a number of aspects to the new system. We will keep the previous version of the Eventzee app running for some time, but we do plan to shut down that version in the near future. You can read more about how it relates to Munzee Events on the Munzee blog. Although the older version of the app will be available to use, it will be removed from the app store later this week and not be available for future installs.

We’re also working on a new pricing platform, but ultimately want to work with clients to best suit their needs. If you’re interested in hosting your own Eventzee virtual events and scavenger hunts please fill out the contact form on our website and we’ll start working with you today! Thank you all for your support over the years- we’re excited to bring you a streamlined app with new challenges and other new features!

Announcing ZeeTours Contests

As we announced in Eventzee’s Year In Review post, 2018 is a year of Transitions. With that in mind we’re excited to promote our sister app ZeeTours’ new Contest feature- which you can join NOW in the ZeeTours app.

As a quick refresher, ZeeTours is a self-guided City Tour app that combines fitness, learning and fun into an unforgettable experience. Follow the tour path to a variety of points of interest, solve clues to complete challenges, and learn more about the city around you.

Currently ZeeTours has a handful of tours in American cities, but we wanted to give international players a chance to join in the fun- that’s where the Contests come in.

Similar to Eventzee’s former Premium Hunt platform, these pay-to-play Contests allow players from around the world to compete for prizes by completing themed Trivia and Photo Challenges. A new Contest is held each week starting on Wednesdays and running through Mondays. Each Contest includes a wide variety of Trivia and Photo challenges based on a weekly theme.

To join a Contest players need to:

  • Download the ZeeTours app
  • Go to the Contests tab
  • Tap on that week’s event
  • Complete the in-app purchase of 5 ZeeTokens to enter

As players complete Challenges they will earn points and a spot on the leaderboard. The top three winners from each Contest will then be awarded prizes. The prizes will vary from week to week, but could be Freeze Tag Inc gift cards, Amazon gift cards, etc.

Although ZeeTours has some similar features, there are a few notable differences that will make this a bit different of an experience from what Eventzee players are used to. We think you’ll all have a great time, but here’s a quick rundown of some of the differences.

Sequential Challenges
Unlike Eventzee’s list of clues being released all at once, in ZeeTours you’ll have to complete each Challenge one by one to advance to the next task.

Trivia Challenges
ZeeTours Contests put a big focus on Trivia Challenges. Similar to Eventzee you’ll lose points if you answer incorrectly, but there is also a speed bonus for answering correctly quickly.

Themed Challenge Sets
In its current iteration ZeeTours Contests are broken into mini themed sets of Challenges.

Each set will include:

  • An informational slide announcing the theme and introducing the Trivia Challenge
  • A timed Trivia Challenge question
  • Three Photos Challenges

Photo Review
Unlike Eventzee there is no ongoing review process with ZeeTours Contests. At the end of the Contest the top three players will have their photos reviewed to make sure there are no clear cheaters. Because of this players will have the length of the Contest to complete challenges and upload photos, but will not be able to resubmit their photos if they are declined. In the event a cheater is identified, their Challenge will receive zero points and a new player will take their spot on the leaderboard.

In other ZeeTours news, we have also released tours in an additional five American cities with another four tours going live on Friday, February 2nd. All tours are available for purchase at www.zeetoursapp.com, in the mobile app via in-app purchase and through the Groupon app and website.

Thank you all for your continued support of both Eventzee and ZeeTours! Be sure to join this weekend’s ZeeTours Contest as well as our usual Weekend Warriors free photo scavenger hunt, which goes live Thursday at 3 PM CST.

Event: 2016 Brilliant Summer Outing

Event Breakdown and Testimonial:

Brilliant™ used the Eventzee app as part of the firm’s 2016 Summer Outing for its internal team members. 60 individuals participated in a Scavenger Hunt around the streets of downtown Chicago, Illinois. We used the app to outline various historical and popular Chicago attractions to take teams around the city in a great team-building and fun-filled event.

The participants were extremely engaged with the features of the app. Everyone loved sending in their photos and checking on the leaderboard to see who was in first place. Our end location was on the rooftop of the acclaimed Lyric Opera House, and it was exciting to see everyone race onto the rooftop in order to finish. Using the app was indeed the highlight of everyone’s day!

Without the easy-to-use functionality of the app, we would not have been able to pull off our event with such success. Everyone has been talking about our Scavenger Hunt experience—and will be for years to come.

Thank you for providing us with such a fun, easy and innovative tool for our Summer Outing.

Eventzee Exposure: VenturingFest by Boy Scouts of America

In “Eventzee Exposure” we look at testimonials from happy clients who have hosted their own Scavenger Hunts. Our users’ experience is very important to us, so when things go off without a hitch we want to cheer about it. Event: National Venturing Event – VenturingFest

Event Breakdown and Testimonial:

The Boy Scouts of America’s Venturing program used Eventzee at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia for our first ever National Venturing Event-Venturing Fest.

We wanted a way for our participants to be able to explore the Summit and interact with other participants and Summit staff members. A scavenger hunt was a great way for our participants to get out and explore the site as they looked for clues. We thought an electronic scavenger hunt would better meet the needs of our population, since most of our participants have smartphones and they are easy to carry around and would not get lost like a piece of paper. Our event was 6 days and our scavenger hunt lasted 5 days so we could announce the winner on the last night during our closing show.

Our participants LOVED the Eventzee Scavenger Hunt. We even had adult leaders join the fun and participate, too. This was our most popular event, with over 300 participants actively playing along. Throughout the week, countless youth and adults commented to our Venturing Fest staff about how much they loved the scavenger hunt and how much fun they were having. They equally liked the ability to explore the Summit and get to meet new people along the way, since some of our clues required participants to meet other participants and Summit staff members.

The app benefited our event in so many ways. First, it encouraged our participants to get out and explore the Summit. Many of them had never been there before, so this was a great way for them to see the different program areas. Secondly, this event encouraged interaction between our participants because they were working on clues together. This also gave our participants something to do in the evening when our program areas were closed, but, most of our participants were working on their scavenger hunt during all waking hours of the event. The scavenger hunt added another level of fun and interaction to our event, which was loved by all of our participants!

Event Breakdown and Testimonial:

SomethingInked hosted their 5th Annual Promotional Products Seminar in Las Vegas and incorporated an Eventzee Scavenger Hunt for the first time this year. Centering around a conferencewide Summer Camp theme, the scavenger hunt encouraged players to interact with “bunkmates” as well as vendors and sponsors.

“Our attendees had a blast! It encouraged everyone to go to each booth and mingle more than they would have without the scavenger hunt. And, since it was heavily photo based, we have come away with a lot of great images of products and customers using products that we can use for marketing pieces throughout the year.

We also used it as a tool to find the most popular products from the trade show and to get people engaged with our social media platforms. Overall it was a really fun addition to the event and if we don’t do it again next year I’m sure we will have some complaints!
