Know Your Hunt- Hidden Message

Scavenger hunts have always been a fun way to interact with others and support camaraderie, but we’ve moved past the limitations of pen and paper. Eventzee takes scavenger hunts to a whole new level by supporting worldwide events and new ways to interact with players. While Eventzee makes it easy to host your own scavenger hunt, it’s up to YOU to make it memorable. So if you’re considering putting on your own, here’s a few tips to get you started.

The goal of most scavenger hunts is to drive traffic to specific areas and get players to explore. While this holds true with Eventzee we also encourage our clients to use our tools educationally. QR Code hidden messages are perfect for driving traffic to specific areas and sharing information, history and more about the area the code is hidden in. Perfect for historical tours, campus explorations and more!

History Repeats Itself
Hidden Message tours are perfect for sharing information about the history of a city. Whether you post codes that link to the history of specific buildings in a historic downtown area, or you even about the business itself, Eventzee is perfect. These particular hunts are ideal for ongoing tours that people can join at any time and use to explore specific areas of their town or city.

Bonus Content
Hidden Messages can also include links to outside information like youtube videos, photos, contact forms, etc. Link to a video to have a virtual tour guide on hand at all times! Link to an image of a special discount code to bring business for shops and restaurants! Perfect for coalitions of small businesses to join together in a unique marketing experience.

Mystery Scavenger Hunts
Want to get really creative? Use the hidden messages as descriptions for clue locations to make scavenger hunts more difficult and inspire critical thinking. Essentially label all your clues as Clue 1, Clue, Clue 2, Clue 3, etc. and only reveal clue locations upon finding and scanning the next code. Once they find the current code the message attached to it would be how players find the next clue. Make them really work for it!

Creating Hidden Message Clues
Setting up Hidden Message clues is easy. You’ll add QR Code clues like normal, but remember that your Clue Title and Description will lead the players to the hidden code. From there you’ll need to click the gear icon to enter the individual clue’s settings. Then simply click on the “Message” section and type in your block of text.

Surprising your parents for their wedding anniversary?  QR Code quizzes are perfect for hosting a customized scavenger hunt to teach your friend’s and family about a specific subject- even if the subject is you! Eventzee in the Classroom

Every student learns differently, but all can make use of the fun and unique learning experience of our Eventzee EDU program. Digital Scavenger Hunts combine effective use of technology with higher level questioning while engaging students in fun, creative ways.

Bring the classroom into the real world with our new Eventzee EDU program!

  • Formative Assessment with instant feedback for teachers.
  • Engages students in making real world connections to curriculum.
  • Creates active learners.

Totally customizable, Eventzee EDU combines creativity with active learning through scavenger hunts. For a basic breakdown of the features Eventzee EDU has to offer checkout the video below.

Check out what people are saying about Eventzee EDU!

Denton ISD | Event: Denton TIA “Technology In Action” Conference

639347Eventzee offered us another dimension of engagement with attendees at our technology conference. We were able to drive traffic to specific areas of focus at our conference, enhancing the experience for everyone involved.

We were also able to, through the use of photo scavenger hunts, gamify self-reflection about new learning by encouraging attendees to share their learning through pictures. That was a huge game-changer for some of our attendees.

– Ross Garison, Coordinator of Instructional Technology @ Denton ISD

Prosper ISD | Event: Multiple Events

639352-1Eventzee EDU has been used in our 7th/8th grade ELAR classes as a semester review and to learn about an author’s life.  It has also been used by our middle school Photojournalism classes as they learn about the different photo composition techniques.

Our Fashion Design and Marketing teacher used it on a field trip to North Park Mall to assess student’s learning in a real world environment.  A 4th grade math teacher took his kids on a Division Hunt.  8th grade history used it to assess the understanding of the 7 principles of our Constitution.  7th grade ELAR took her kids on a mythology hunt.

Kids are engaged in higher level thinking skills as they connect their learning to real world examples.  Teachers can provide instant feedback.  It is a great formative assessment tool.  Teachers can differentiate amount student or group submissions based on level of understanding.

 – Michelle Phillips, M. Ed. Instructional Technology Specialist @ Reynolds Middle School, Prosper ISD

Region 10 | Event: 21st Annual Region 10 Technology Conference

639349-1The Eventzee Crew helped run the event since we had over 500 participants at the conference. They were an awesome crew with their fun, bright suits and amazing personalities! Our goal for this event was for our participants (Educators in the Region 10 ESC area in Texas) to have some fun mixed in with their full day of learning and for them to see how this type of technology integration could be used in the classroom.

From the feedback we received, many districts determined that Eventzee was something they could take back to their students and use in the classroom. Eventzee is a wonderful tool to use in both the classroom as well as a professional learning environment. Two thumbs up!!

Lori Aden, Ed. D. Region 10 Distance Learning Consultant

Know Your Hunt- GPS

Scavenger hunts have always been a fun way to interact with others and support camaraderie, but we’ve moved past the limitations of pen and paper. Eventzee takes scavenger hunts to a whole new level by supporting worldwide events and new ways to interact with players. While Eventzee makes it easy to host your own scavenger hunt, it’s up to YOU to make it memorable. So if you’re considering putting on your own, here’s a few tips to get you started.

While photo hunts are totally fun and encourage social interaction, QR Code scavenger hunts can be used in a number of educational ways. When hosting your own hunt you may choose to use QR clues, which can be converted into a quiz or a GPS clue as well. GPS clues are especially handy if your hunt is throughout a city or campus with distinct locations.

Topographical Tourists
Eventzee GPS Hunts are great for showcasing unique and unknown parts of your town or city. Whether it’s historically important locations or simply a map of local restaurants, adding GPS coordinates to a clue is a fun way to get players exploring the places around them. Each clue’s location also shows up on the Eventzee map so it’s perfect for tours of all sorts.

We’ve Got Spirit How About You?
It’s not easy to get around campus your freshman year, but an Eventzee GPS hunt can be a fun way to help educate new students about their surroundings. Map out financial buildings, sports complexes and more important locations for your campus. You can even attach quiz questions to each location to test new students knowledge about the history of each building.

Late Night Latitude
Planning a night out? Pub crawls are a great social activity that double as a way of exploring a city’s unique nightlife locations. Get a group together and schedule out your whole night with Eventzee. Check in at each bar with GPS clues, then include fun photo clues to make the night unforgettable.

Creating Your GPS Hunt
Setting up GPS clues is easy. When you’re first creating your hunt you simply make sure the hunt is “Geolocation Based.” From there you’ll just add clues like normal with a clue name and description.

To set the GPS coordinates for an individual clue you’ll click on the gear icon to access the clue’s settings. There you can either search for the location or add the exact coordinates yourself. Then whenever you’re ready, just place the QR codes at each location.
